These days, it seems like to get the American dream and American debt go hand-in-hand.
The American Debt Project is a personal finance blog that follows one 29-year-old woman’s efforts to get out from under $38,000 in consumer debt.
The author, who is fully admits she is not financial advisor, says she began the blog when she saw that other family, friends, and coworkers were similarly swimming in debt. One of her motivations was to learn how to “not act like money becomes flammable if it’s not immediately spent upon contact,” but she also tackles the serious side of the American misconception that debt is just a part of life.
The blog features tips on getting out of debt, keeping a budget, personal finance book reviews, financial conference recaps, government financial news, and investing.
